# $HASH STAKING

Staking involves users locking up a certain amount of tokens as collateral to participate in network operations, such as validating transactions or contributing to consensus mechanisms. In return for their contribution, stakers earn rewards in the form of additional tokens or network fees. This mechanism not only promotes network security and stability but also fosters decentralization by distributing decision-making power among a diverse set of participants.
